In the Apostle Paul's first letter to the Corinthian church he writes in 1 Corinthians 2:1-5: "When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God's power."
In 1 Corinthians 2:1-5 Paul chose to sound dumber than he was. He kept it simple because he believed that simply preaching the Gospel would change people. No feel good message that aroused the emotions of the flesh. He wanted people full of God's spirit and not full of mans hype.
Simple Church Ministry is God's people meeting in homes, offices, campuses, coffee shops, online and wherever God is moving. The Lords way of being the church, rather than just "having church". This is the pattern common in New Testament scripture, many parts of the globe, and is now becoming more and more common in the U.S. as well.

We are used to thinking of church as a building, but how does the Bible portray the church? Interestingly, the Bible never uses the word “church” to describe a building; instead, it gives us the picture of the church as a family. Here are some biblical examples of simple New Testament church gatherings:
- Lydia’s House (Acts 16:40)
- An Upper Room (Acts 20:8)
- Priscilla and Aquila’s house
(Romans 16:3-5, 1 Corinthians 16:19) - Nympha’s house in Laodicea(Colossians 4:15)
- Archippa’s house (Philemon 2)
- Multiple House Churches in Ephesus (See Acts 20:17-20)
